After announcing its European expansion plans back in January, Captain D's will open the first location of its 20-unit franchise agreement in the United Kingdom this summer.

The agreement with CD's Holdings will introduce Captain D's signature seafood offerings to Europe. The first location is set to open in Kent in August. Restaurants will open in Sussex and Hampshire soon after.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., Captain D's currently has more than 530 restaurants open in 23 U.S. states. This development marks Captain D's first venture into Europe and its second international development agreement following its Canadian expansion in Toronto.

"We have been looking for the right brand to introduce to the UK market, which is exciting and healthy," says Naveed Chattha, operations director of CD's Holdings. "There is a large fish and chips market in the UK, but no one has tried to apply discipline, standards, and quality to such a level here before. With our experience, we feel Captain D's is the right choice."
