Dallas-based Pizza Patrón opened a new standalone concept, which has since become the chain's fourth highest-earning location out of 95 stores systemwide.

The idea behind building the new location was to provide some relief for two other nearby stores running at maximum capacity, according to Pizza Patrón execs.

Incorporating the company's new "Nueva Tradición" design package, the 1,200-square-foot store features vibrant colors and commissioned artwork for a lively, modern feel as well as a newly designed walk-in lobby, a digital menu/graphics board and additional drive-thru lane for pick-up orders. By last month, the chain announced it had already completed retrofitting 81 of its 95 stores to the new design.

"This new model costs approximately $350,000 to build with projected sales of over $800,000 for the first year," said Andrew Gamm, executive vice president of Pizza Patrón. As with all Pizza Patrón locations, the store accepts Mexican pesos in bill format.
