Earl of Sandwich Designed for Growth

Orlando-based Earl of Sandwich opened its 28th restaurant in St. Petersburg, Fla., debuting a comprehensive new platform designed to facilitate aggressive franchise growth.

The chain's new prototype incorporates a modern store design called "Energized"; key kitchen and equipment design changes that enable faster speed of service, throughput and labor efficiencies; and a delivery station that allows locations to execute a high-volume, hot delivery platform called Hot. Fast. Fresh.

The company worked with Tampa-based design and architecture firm api(+) and Miami-based Profitality to develop the prototype, which is geared to sites measuring 1,500 to 1,800 square feet. In a typical suburban market, build-out costs are expected to average $300,000.

Now that the new prototype and brand work has been completed, Earl of
Sandwich plans aggressive growth of both company-owned and franchised stores.
Earl of Sandwich recently signed a multi-store development deal with the Palma Group to develop Qatar, has multi-store development deals for more casino locations and will continue to develop in airports and transportation locations with existing franchise partners. A franchisee has also been signed to develop in the Phoenix market and
several area development deals are reportedly in the works.
